For the last 75 years, a large chapter of Porsche’s story focuses on our sportscars making history, both on and off the track. However, one of the most unique Porsche vehicles ever produced was never intended for the track, or the road for that matter. Porsche Tractors. Yes, you read that right, between 1956 and 1963 Porsche built tractors. It comes as no surprise that these tractors incorporated all the elements of what makes Porsche iconic – advanced technological design, innovation, and exceptional craftsmanship.
As part of the Rennsport Reunion 7 celebration, on Saturday and Sunday you can watch as these tractors take to Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in a one-of-a-kind race to the finish. This race is just as fun as it is exciting for lifelong enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
With tractors ranging from one to four cylinders, faster tractors start further back to even the playing field. In a nod to our motorsport past, the race begins with a “Le Mans Start”. Drivers line up on one side of the track, and once the flag is dropped, sprint across the track to their vehicle to begin the race.
Piloting the tractors will be some of the most celebrated racing legends of Porsche as they swap their racing helmets for tractor helmets. Come experience a different kind of Porsche icon racing you can only find at Rennsport Reunion 7.
