Porsche and TAG Heuer have always been destined to become partners. Both iconic brands share a long heritage of craftsmanship, performance, and innovative vision dating back for decades.
It was in 1948 when Ferdinand Porsche’s son, “Ferry” Porsche founded the legendary car brand, and by 1954 Porsche had found success on the track with a class win in the Carrera Panamericana race. In honor of the landmark win, Porsche names its most powerful sportscar engine, the ‘Carrera’.

In 1963, the great-grandson of TAG Heuer’s founder, Jack Heuer crafted the first Heuer Carrera chronograph, specifically designed to allow drivers to see the time at any point of a race. Inspired by the iconic Carrera Panamericana race, Jack Heuer decided it was the perfect name for a watch with a racing spirit, useful and functional, featuring a clean and legible design. In addition to the Carrera chronograph, Jack was also the mind behind the Heuer Monaco. This renown timepiece was the first square-faced, water-resistant automatic chronograph watch. Named after the Monaco Grand Prix and Monte Carlo Rally, that the Porsche 911 won three consecutive times, from 1968 to 1970.
Since then, the partnership between the iconic brands continued to flourish, and in the mid-1980s worked together to develop and produce the TAG Turbo Engine that led the McLaren team to win three consecutive F1 world titles. The relationship also extended to sports off the track, both driven by passions for tennis and golf.

Now these brands have come together once again to push the limits of design and craftsmanship as a way to commemorate the 60th anniversaries of the Porsche 911 and the TAG Heuer Carrera Collection. TAG Heuer will be joining us at the end of September in Monterey, California for Rennsport Reunion 7 with the TAG Heuer Heritage Experience. The TAG Heuer Heritage Experience invites you to step into a world of elevated design, engineering, and craftsmanship by experiencing some of the most legendary Porsche vehicles ever up close along with extraordinary timepieces.
