Rennsport isn’t just a celebration and look back at the history of Porsche, it’s also a glimpse into the future of Porsche and sports cars. Over the last twenty-two years, Rennsport has built a reputation to playing host of some of the newest Porsche models. Previous Rennsport Reunions have featured groundbreaking vehicles like the 959, the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder, and for Rennsport Reunion7, we have something very special instore – The Mission X.
The Mission X is the latest example of a Porsche dream coming to fruition and a look into the future of sports cars. A new take on the lightweight hypercar, The Mission X reinvents the standards on how Porsche brings futuristic concept cars to life.
The exterior of The Mission X looks like nothing else that came before it, but still manages to feel uncompromisingly Porsche. An innovative flat body and carbon exoskeleton holds a Daytona windshield, providing increased visibility around tight turns giving the vehicle even more of a feeling of open space. The lightweight design is inspired by architectural support structures and features LeMans-style doors with integrated side windows. Feel the power of maximum downforce via an adaptable wing and tuned underbody, all packaged in a futuristic “Rocket Metallic” color that transitions with the viewing angle.
Stepping into The Mission X, the commitment to innovative design of the interior is just as meticulous as the exterior. Seats are adapted to the driver via scans and integrated into the monocoque, along with custom-molded leather pads. A center screen, curved display and digital wing mirrors help to give the driver clear focus on the track, with all essential controls on the driver’s axle. On the passenger side, a bayonet system is integrated into the dashboard, where a Porsche Design clock can be attached that combines digital trip information with an analog stopwatch to keep track of all key information.
The Mission X will be on full display at Rennsport Reunion 7. Festival goers will get a closer first-look as the Mission X sets the tone for the next evolution in sports cars and see what the future holds.
